Before coming to work for the Gale Group, I spent 10 years with UMI working in various facets of technology and product management. I started with UMI as an Assistant Engineer working in technical support and eventually was promoted to Integration Manager the computer integration facility where we assembled between 400-600 systems per month. From there I applied for a job as a Field Engineer for the PowerPages system supporting image delivery of articles over networks using 240 disk jukebox systems. In this role, I designed and implemented solutions for the State of Utah, and worked closely with all OPAC and automation vendors to tie in ASCII search systems with automated image delivery of articles. From there, I became the divisional Solutions Consultant, working on project management processes as well as supporting UMI's new ProQuest Direct system. I then became the Senior Trainer for UMI's corporate division then Product Manger for ProQuest Direct, and finally ended up as Director of International Technology for UMI when I decided to join the Gale Group.

I am currently employed by the Gale Group as Vice President of Global Sales, having responsibility for electronic, print, and microform sales the Gale Group has outside of the United States of America and Canada. In this role, I have helped establish a close relationship to the library market place by introducing InfoMarks to the world, a free technology allowing libraries to cut and paste articles and search strategies into local web pages inside of the library.

I was one of the first students in 1996 to join the University of Phoenix Online program where I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I am currently 3 classes away from obtaining my Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis on Technology Management. All classes are attended virtually, with no physical contact ever taking place between the student and the teacher.

I live in Stockbridge, Michigan, a small town of 2000 people located in mid-Michigan. I have 3 children and a wife of 16 years, Karen. My hobbies are surfing the Internet, reading, and playing guitar.
